Once upon a time, there was once a sad little Queen on a sad little hill.
The Changelings, humans taken from the mortal world and turned into slaves, rebelled against their suppressors in the Fae world of Arcadia. They formed a faction known as the Helots and challenged the Swan Queen and all her loyal servants. Many Fair Folk who had grown tired of the Swan Queens rule, and the barbaric changeling process, joined with the Helots to free their nation and put an end to the Wild Hunt. The civil war devastated the land, it was a bloody gruesome war that took no prisoners. During the final conflict both the leader of the Helot faction and the Swan Queen were slain, along with all but one of her heirs. A halfling infant with the blood of the Swans but the soul of the Helots.
Ten years have passed since the nations rebirth.
During the war over two thirds of the Swan Kingdom's population lost their lives, and those who were left had to find a way to move forward. The remainders of each faction decided, in an effort to end the bloodshed, to become one organization that would lead the new Swan Kingdom out of this age of sorrows. The newly formed "Sage Council" would help in advising the Infant King. And help make decisions to better the Swan Kingdom as a whole. However the Sage Council is made up of both ex-helot rebels and those who were once the departed Swan Queens loyal servants. Many difficulties still lay ahead for the Swan Kingdom. Much of the nation needs to be rebuilt, the new Sage Council must enforce itself as the new power in the Kingdom, and other Kingdoms lurk in the shadows awaiting a chance to take the crippled nation for their own.
The most drastic change caused by this governmental upheaval are the now freed changelings. Do they return to the world they no longer belong to? Do they try and live out their lives as the lowest social circle in the Fae world, or do they fight for higher social status and positions on the Sage council? And what of the rumored underground slave market? The fate of this once great nation now lies greatly in the hands of the least respected creatures in all the land.
How will your tale end?...or is this only it's beginning?
