Name: Merikh Ashburn
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Side: Noah (in this case, evil)
Job: ...Noah ¦D
Home Country: Australia
The Specifics
Appearance: Merikh
Personality:
Upon first glance, this young man appears to be like any other man one might encounter. He is generally quite charming and something of a flirt. He doesn’t not stop to help “the little old lady cross the street” and he usually will comment on her clothes, purse, or how “young” she looks afterwards. Should there be a kitten stuck up in a tree, he will be among the first to help get it down. (Of course, this is in part due to his love of the beasts.) If there’s a group of girls nearby, he will use subtle pick-up lines to at least get them to giggle.
Merikh has a tendency to be quite the klutz, usually acting as if it is nothing once he’s gone and apologized many times for whatever he has broken or spilled. Of course, due to his charming and flirtatious appearance, he generally get away with whatever it is that he did wrong, no punishments.
On top of this, this Aussie appears to be quite the socialite, often attending every social event and then some. He’s really quite the talker, and knows it too. (He happens to be proud of his vocabulary, and thus often takes advantage of social gatherings to show off and confuse people with big words.) But even more than this, he appears to be extremely outgoing and competitive, reacting to the smallest of challenges, often instigating them to begin with, whether or not he is the one who actually does the challenging.
But this only resides on the surface. The saying “beauty is only skin deep” takes on an almost literal meaning here. However, instead of it being his outward appearance, it’s the surface level of his personality. Beneath all of the charm, wit, and “cute” clumsiness, he is one of the darkest beings that one may ever encounter. In fact, it’s bad enough that should one see the more demonic side of him and live, nightmares are likely to ensue.
He is first and foremost a sadomasochist. He loves giving pain, especially when it’s, say, while flirting with a woman in a dark alley. Should they attempt to fight back and actually hurt him, he’ll love it even more. Of course, this isn’t something that he would show in civilized society. It would ruin his charming image and expose to the whole of England (at least) that he is nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Needless to say, this sadomasochist attitude of his allows him a much higher pain tolerance threshold than most would assume he has.
Part of what fuels this sadomasochistic attitude of his is his hatred for the whole of humanity – his own person included. After seeing the darker side of human nature, Merikh’s thoughts and views ended up being turned inside out, upside down, and distorted to the point of the inability to recover. He thinks that the human race is amongst the most disgusting races that are out there, and has no qualms about voicing his opinion, inside of or outside of fashionable society. It does infuriate most people, but he doesn’t care. He usually doesn’t. If anyone decides they loathe his views enough to duel him, they’re as good as dead.
The sadomasochist-hatred part aside, this Noah is quite the fatalist. In fact, he often takes his fatalistic views to the extreme. If anything happens to someone, such as death, he sees it as “well, it was that person’s fate to die. It happens eventually, why should I mourn?” Furthermore, he doesn’t pity the dead also in part because of what his powers do to his own life. Every time he uses even the most weak of his abilities, he loses a few seconds of his life. He believes that everything is out of his hands, and that he can’t change anything. He refuses to change his views or his actions – after all, fate decided that he was to be as such and do as such, why should he attempt to change? It’ll amount to nothing. Plus, it’s not like he has a lot of time left to do anything other than what he does.
Amidst all of his personality traits, bad, good, and, well, mostly bad, there is one trait that stands out between him and the rest of his family. He’s acrophobic (afraid of heights) to the point where even standing on a rock not five feet above the ground has a tendency to make him dizzy and queasy. He, and others, has attempted using therapy to work him out of this phobia, but nothing has worked. (Of course, this is mainly due to his fatalistic sense of being. “Well, I’m fated to be acrophobic, so I’m not going to do anything to change that about me.”)

Relations With Other Characters:
Higher-up Society – He’s generally quite liked.

Quotes:
- “No hard feelings~ It’s just your fate to die.”
- “Ah, my lucky stars must be in alignment! I’ve never met anyone with as beautiful eyes as yours.”
- “The strong rule the weak. The weak get eaten away by the sands of time. Of course, seeing as how the strong can’t escape that fate either, perhaps that just means we’re all weak? Except for the rest of my family, of course – they’re eternal.”
- “My curse is my pride. Give me a target and I use it how I see fit. You, good sir, are fated to taste Atrophos’ blade.”
- “Oh please. You can’t expect me to sleep all night in a graveyard awaiting some poor soul, now can you? I don’t do well sleeping in the night cold like that! Though I must admit, I can’t think of a more fitting place to watch someone’s death.”
- “You can’t run from me. I can see the thread of your life. Guess who the one who’s going to cut it shall be?”
- “I hate humanity. They took me in as a boy, chewed me up, and spit me back out. Though I suppose I’m not within my rights to complain too much. It was fate.”
